PEDIATRIC PROSTHETICS AND CHILDREN’S ORTHOTICS
WE PROVIDE PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOTIC SOLUTIONS FOR KIDS THROUGHOUT CHARLOTTE, ROCK HILL & LANCASTER

We love kids! All of our clinicians are parents. This means they know how to work with kids and understand the responsibility of parenting a child. Parents tend to take responsibility for their child’s challenging situation and aggressively advocate for the best solution available for their child. This is exactly what we want you to do because often we will need to work closely with you to ensure the institutions that govern care do their part to support the best solution. Active children will need constant adjustments and attention. This is where the flexibility of the POI staff benefits our patients. Our motto is be nimble & responsive at all times.
The children we treat play baseball, ride horses, work on the farm, ride bikes, and wrestle their siblings. There are few limits for our pediatric patients. Please watch some of our patient stories to learn more about how a child and mother have adjusted to life with a prosthesis/orthosis.

POI’S PEDIATRIC ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALISTS
POI clinicians each have over 15 years of pediatric orthotic experience. Each has spent countless hours supporting therapists with the treatment of pediatric patients. Our strategy is to observe the patient, receive feedback & direction from the therapist, listen to the concern of our patient’s parents, and formulate a comprehensive care strategy. Each case is unique and that is why experience is so important when navigating the complexity of a child’s orthotic needs.
The following are some of the challenges we solve with custom orthotic solutions:
• Instability – standing or walking
• Muscular Imbalance
• Poor Skeletal Alignment
• Deformity Progression
• Hyperextension
• Muscular Weakness
